Random Salad Games are back with another gem. The makers of hit Windows 8 titles like Hangman Pro, Super Gold Land and Bubble Pop Star have recently released Tic Tac Toe Deluxe.

And as the name gives away, it is the popular Tic Tac Toe game, only in deluxe variety.

Jokes aside, this is one of the finest implementation of what is, quite possibly, the most popular pen and paper game in the world. You can play against the computer or with friends and family. Simple fun, though the easy level essentially lets you win, without mounting any sort of a challenge.

More on the game follows the official description:

“Play the BEST Tic Tac Toe game for Windows 8 today! With Tic Tac Toe Deluxe, you can play against the computer or with your friends and family. Choose from 3 fun and vibrant themes that everyone can enjoy. Enter your name, pick your piece, and keep track of your score as you play this classic game.”

These guys aren’t kidding when they say that this is the best Tic Tac Toe game for Windows 8 — there are a few contenders, but this one really hits it home.

Part of the appeal is the very attractive design. You have multiple themes to choose from, all richly designed. And the underlying gameplay mechanics, while simple, are neatly implemented. Well worth a try for some casual fun. Universal app, for all modern versions of Microsoft’s operating system.
