No better news than reporting on high profiles apps being released on the Windows Store. And several such applications have made their way to the Windows 8.1 platform in the past year or so.

We can add another one to the list — the official VH1 app has just launched.

Published by MTV Networks, this free app allows users to watch videos and full episodes that air on VH1 right in the Metro environment of Microsoft’s modern operating system. A TV schedule for the next seven days is also provided.

Here is what the official description states:

“Welcome to the ultimate VH1 video experience for your Windows phone or tablet. Check out full episodes (included with your TV subscription from participating providers), get bonus content from your favorite shows, and see all the additional video VH1 creates – the latest in pop culture news and info, fashion from VH1 Celebrity, musician interviews from VH1 Tuner and much more! You can also check the TV schedule to see what’s on VH1 right now.”

You can browse the list of broadcasts, and after authenticating through your cable or satellite provider, watch full episodes, although some of the more popular providers like Comcast and Dish are apparently not supported yet.

The design and UI is fundamentally modern too, and completely touch optimized. And the app supports all variants of the modern Windows, including those that run on ARM processors.
