The popular to-do list and tasks application, Wunderlist, is now available on the Windows Store in beta form, and it lives up to its name in terms of style and elegance.

At the very least it saves fans of the service to use the web version on their Surface or Windows 8 slates. To sign in, you need to create an account first — that is, if you do not already have one. After signing in, all your tasks are automatically synchronized to your device.

Before we get any further, the official description:

“Wunderlist helps millions of people around the world capture their ideas, things to do and places to see. Whether you’re sharing a grocery list with a loved one, working on a project, or planning a vacation, Wunderlist makes it easy to share your lists and collaborate with everyone in your life. Wunderlist instantly syncs between your phone, tablet and computer, so you can access your lists from anywhere.”

Now, as far as beta releases go, this is a pretty neat start. The app is feature rich, though it still needs a few minor additions, some extra buttons for even more comfortable use.

But where this is a bit of a letdown is in terms of exclusive Windows Modern UI features. A more flexible Snap View would be a good start, and functional support for Live Tiles will elevate it even further. Things like tiles showing uncompleted tasks, or separately pinned lists on the Start Screen.

As it stand, this is still one of the best productivity apps available for the platform. Regular updates will only make it better. Not universal, but supports x86, x64 and ARM.
