Although not many were expecting this particular build to leak, but the x64 flavor of Windows 8.1 build 9477 is now out in the wild. Those interested in download and testing this out can find it in the usual dark corners of the web.
As reported earlier, this is a version that Microsoft partners in China were testing these past few weeks.
And even though the fact that the ISO is exclusively in Chinese may mean that not everyone will jump in right away to take this build for a test drive, it is easy to make it work in English with some tricks.
Nevertheless, this provides enthusiasts a chance to try out the newest improvements that has been made to the operating system before they are implemented into the RTM version of Windows 8.1.
But as the screenshot above shows, there are some very minor changes to the icons and tile colors in the Start Screen. No information yet on any other changes that Microsoft has made to this particular build, but this clearly is another confirmation that we are in the final stretch of development.
As always installing this build on production machine is not recommended, as this is an unfinished build which could quite likely be unstable and come with some bugs.
