Windows 8.1 Preview Website Launched By Microsoft

It seems that Redmond has pretty much made most of its preparations for the anticipated launch of the public preview build of Windows 8.1 at the BUILD developer conference later this month.

Not only has the software titan been sending out test builds of the upcoming OS to select partners, development on the operating system has been moving along at a brisk pace — if we consider the various screenshots and build numbers that have leaked over the past couple of months.

And now Microsoft has prepared for the highly anticipated launch of the preview build by launching a dedicated website for it.

Even though the Windows 8.1 Preview website is currently providing access to enterprise resources only, the page will most likely be updated in time for end users as well. The website currently reads:

“Windows 8.1 brings together everything you do – from new mobile apps for your business, to Office productivity work, to searching and browsing, to accessing all your data from anywhere.”

The preview page is high on graphics for the time being, but it does contain a link at the bottom portion that leads to a “What’s New in Windows 8.1” page that actually contains a ton of information on the free upgrade.

Most of it has already been revealed by the company, but it does make for an interesting read, nevertheless. Even more interesting would be finding out what the software titan packs into this dedicated website around the time the Windows 8.1 public preview sees daylight.
