Boy, that didn’t take too long. There had been speculation that the English version ISOs could leak in the first week of September. But the floodgates seem to have truly opened before the month is even out.
Windows 8.1, along with other versions of the OS, hit RTM status towards the end of last week.
And while a user in China had earlier leaked out the x64 version of Windows 8.1 RTM, it was the English version of the operating system with the Chinese language slipstreamed. Additionally, there were reports that the wim file of this particular leak was corrupt, though it could be fixed.
And today two untouched original ISOs have surfaced — x86 and x64 version of Windows 8.1 — and are now available in the dark alleys of the Internet.
These come from the famed Russian leaker WZOR, who has also promised that Windows Server 2012 R2, Essentials, Enterprise, Hyper-V Server and Foundation Storage will also be heading for torrent sites in the coming days, along with their Russian versions and language packs.
The build string for the x64 ISO, for example, is 6.3.9600.16384.WINBLUE_RTM.130821-1623, meaning they are Microsoft images and not modified in any way.
If you do decide to hunt for these ISOs, do keep in mind that Microsoft does not provide any support for these sorts of releases. The software titan recommends users to wait until October 18 to ensure that they are getting the original, optimum and optimized bits.
