A rather odd name to call a Windows build, but there you have it. A very special build of Windows 8.1 Update 1 has been doing the rounds, called Windows 8.1 with Bing.
The special version is only delivered to partners, as is usually the case.
And Wzor has posted new screenshots of this flavor of Windows that allegedly goes by the build string of 9600.17024.winblue_gdr_s14sku_partner.14 0214-1700. The leaker says that Microsoft has already shipped the installer to a number of hardware and software partners.
The name suggests deeper integration of Bing search services in the operating system, though it is too early to tell all that is new, since this is just another early build of Windows 8.1 Update 1.
However, a screenshot published by the abovementioned leaker indicates that Internet Explorer 11.0.7 is expected to be included in the final version that ships to users.
The current version of IE on Windows 8.1 is 11.0.3 — released this Patch Tuesday.
Speaking of the popular web browser, Microsoft also plans to include the Enterprise Mode feature in the upcoming version of the operating system that would allow businesses and companies enhanced compatibility with specific website.
More on all this, as it develops.
