For free, that is. Microsoft are yet to talk about this second update for Windows 8.1, but some early details are floating up regarding Windows 8.1 Update 2 and how it is set to be delivered.

Fact is, that the company has a very robust delivery system in the form of Windows Update.

The Windows Store is fine for smaller apps, but larger downloads (and that too, of this nature) have the potential to create slowdowns and installation issues. In order to ensure that no installation problems are present upon release, the company is bringing Windows Update into the picture again.

There is word that Windows 8.1 Update 2 is to be offered via the Windows Update option, just like it was the case with its predecessor.

Nothing is confirmed so far, but there is a fair chance of this happening.

Interestingly, whether we will see downloadable ISOs or MSU files of Windows 8.1 Update 2 remains to be seen. For many, these are the quickest route to installation.

Ok, there is no need for this discussion, it will be delivered via windows update as God had intended it to be from the beginning. Why are we even talking about the store again? The 8.1 update in the store was a grievous mistake that ought not be repeated

Not a surprise at all here. I’d be shocked if it wasn’t offered through Windows Update! 🙂
