A lot of apps have been added to the Windows Store since the Release preview launch.

I really love the metro apps but there was one thing which was constantly turning me to the desktop browser and that was for playing online Hindi songs. But with the coming of Gaana app, my complaints changed into praise.

This was the first app which supported playing Hindi(Bollywood) songs online i.e. Without having the need to download them locally. And the best part is, it also supports playing English(Hollywood) songs.

So, its an all in one package for the user.

It is one of the finest metro apps out there. As soon as you open the app you are greeted with tile like interface.

These tiles represent songs as well as albums. Playing any song or album is just as easy as clicking on it.

Songs and albums are represented in such a way that it is easy to find your desired song. Also this app implements the Search contract. . Searching through the app is also very fast. Just go to the search option in the charms bar, enter your query and hit enter. The app will return a result for your query almost instantly.

Also the app supports playing music in the background. So, you can enjoy listening to music, while working on other apps.

Still the app is not perfect. There are few things that I would like to be fixed. One of them is Live tile. This is one of the biggest disappointment that this app has a static tile. So it does not display any info about the song that is being played or any new album released.

I would really love to see this app with a live tile making my start screen look more beautiful than ever before. Also this app does not supports creating an account so that one can roam his favourite songs and albums on all Windows 8 PCs.

This is one of the most essential features, I feel a music app should have. The app does not supports share contract, So if you are listening to any album and want to share it with your friend you cannot do that.

Overall this is a very good app specially for Indian users who would like to listen Bollywood songs online.

Still I would love to see some changes in the app such as the introduction of live tile, adding account features etc.

Also I would like to see more apps which support playing Hindi Bollywood songs in the store soon.

Have you tried the Gaana app?

What do you feel about it?
