Earlier today I reviewed the premium app “Meduza”. While I wasn’t that impressed with my first paid Windows 8 app, I thought I’d give it another go. The next app up for review is “Hit Me”. Based on the name, you might think this game has something to do with BlackJack, it doesn’t.

Hit Me is a simple game where dots appear and you must hit them quickly to score big. There are also red dots that will cause you to lose. Sounds simple, sounds boring. It’s actually pretty addictive. The game speeds up as you progress and is one of those titles that makes you really invest yourself in getting the highest score possible.

I played Hit Me for about fifteen minutes and had much more fun doing it than the previous app I reviewed. Like Meduza, this game is also just $1.49. I personally felt it was a lot to pay for Meduza, but what about Hit Me? I like the game, but I still am not sure if I’d spring money for it. If this was $.99 it might be a little more compelling but there are still many free games that are just as good out there.

I think Hit Me is a lot of fun, and for some they might not mind spending a little over a buck for something like this. For me, I’d pass on the premium version, though the trial isn’t bad at all either.

How much replay value does this game have? It’s hard to say. I had fun but nothing that makes me instantly addicted like “Cut the Rope” and “Angry Birds”. If I were to rate it from 1 to 10 (10 being best), I’d say it’s a 5 ½.

Have you tried “Hit Me” yet?

What did you think?

My first paid app was Pinball FX2. While the app is free, with one free table, it was so much fun that I bought multiple tables. Worth it if you like Pinball. I also bought the full version of cut the rope.
