Windows 9 Screenshots Leaked, Gallery

The technical preview of the upcoming operating system is still a couple of weeks away, but some Windows 9 screenshots leaked out earlier today, a whole bunch of them.

The images show several features of the upcoming OS in action, including multiple desktops, windowed Modern UI apps, the user interface, new taskbar options and more.

Surprisingly, the returning Start Menu is also part of this test version, build 9834 as it is called. This, despite the fact that there were some hints that Microsoft does not plan to include the Start Menu in the preview version of Windows 9.

A few of the images are embedded below:

And you can take a look at the full gallery of 20 images here.

Internet Explorer 11 is also apparently part of this build, which shows that Microsoft is yet to give shape to IE 12 as of this writing. Obviously, many other features of the upcoming operating system are still in development, and will remain so for the next six or so months.

Keep in mind, however, that even though these images appear to be real, it is hard to tell whether they are indeed from the test preview build. Take them at face value for now.

Again, here is the link to the full gallery.

I’m so glad they are doing away with the horrible padding on the windows…. but with that said, because they are now “hopefully” getting rid of the paddings on windows, they need to bring back the darker and deeper shadows (like win7) to provide proper visual separation…..

Also, Nice to see a redesigned and flatter explorer and desktop icon.. BUT!!hopefully new icons everywhere… those library icons and other system icons just don’t fit in with the flatter windows design..

I really don’t care about the return of the start menu outside of the library and recent application links. If they added that to the 8.1 start list, I would be fine. I do like the new menu options added to app screens
