Windows Store is getting a very small new change. It seems that the Store is now offering both a “free top apps” section (which it has always had) and a new top paid apps list as well.
That said, it seems that the change is rolling out slowly. Neowin reports that some residents in the UK are now reporting the change. There has been some comments from Indian users suggesting it has arrived in parts of that country as well.
For now, the change is not in the United States version of Windows Store, though. It’s hard to say how long it will take to roll these changes out, but we are glad they are adding this. Why wasn’t it there from the beginning? Probably because there weren’t enough paid apps to justify having such a section, but this number is now starting to grow.
Among the top apps include Angry Birds Space, Angry Birds Star Wars and Pin Steam. For those that don’t know, Pin Steam is an app that allows users to pin their steam apps into the new Start UI. This falls in line with prior information suggesting that Steam is actually quite popular with the Windows 8 crowd so far.
Right now, about 88 percent of the apps in Windows Store are free, but we are finally starting to see more and more quality paid apps as well. Do you own any paid Windows apps yet? If so, what are your favorites?
