Your feedback about what you want to see in Windows 8 Beta

Windows 8 feedback

Windows 8 feedback

So I had asked you guys and girls for your comments regarding Windows 8 and what you wanted to see and a lot of the comments are in already.

You can see them here.

A lot of the comments were repetitive but the theme for the top 4 requests was pretty clear.

  1. People want to see Microsoft separate the Windows Desktop from the Metro interface more clearly. The two interfaces are very distinct and from some of the comments, it seems like Metro is viewed like an optional Windows theme. People think that the back and forth is a little too intrusive and would like to see Metro as more of an option than an integral part of the core interface.
  2. Someone asked a good question – Why can’t Windows Defender and Microsoft Security Essentials be combined into one program?
  3. There were requests for multi-lingual support for the Windows 8 Beta. I’m not sure when the languages will kick in but there seems to be a demand for languages other than English. I believe French was the language requested in the comments.
  4. Less Versions: A crowd favorite – people want to see less versions of Windows 8 when it’s released. Home Premium, Super Home Premium etc have worn out their welcomes apparently.

Well, I’ll keep adding to this list as they keep coming but feel free to use the comments below or the comments on the original page to respond.

So that’s that but what about you?

What are the most important things you would like to see in Windows 8?

It seems Windows 7 causes a lot off CPU heat and at notebooks, special in the warmer countries, a Thermal shutdown.
When reclaming at the shop or the callcenter of the mark about the hardware, they always say the software is the cause.
But when claiming about the software it’s the hardware what is the cause, because  it’s a notebook or because it the climat is to hot.
No one will offer a solution and the client sticks with the problem.
Anyway the temperature rises when using resources of Windows 7.
In Windows 8 it should have a significant attention.

I agree with two above. Multi language support and a separate desktop from metro UI. I also want to see the ARM version of windows finally released so I can upload it to my tablet XD.

Very good, it would be appear in Hungarian as my English is very gyenge.Szeretném know then that I can change to a development version or final version will be purchased.
In my otherwise very well with Windows 8, there was no problem idáig.Kivéve once again had to be works of Skype.
I look forward to the final version.

Why does Windows 8 have, windows itself, so many “stand-alone” apps.

Defender is good, but issues with Microsoft Security Essentials and 2nd/3rd party software.
Microsoft Security Essentials is compatible with Sysinternerals Suite,
But has some issues with Forefront.
Installing one on the other nulls the previous settings, rendering it vulnerable.

NetApp chokes Win 7, what will it due to Win 8/ Win 9 or even Win X when it arrives?

Bandaids don’t work for long, they create more problem, then more bandaids are created!

How will Microsoft correct these serious issues for the PowerUser and corporate realm?

    My wish list:

    – Why can’t IE 9x have a paste ‘n go option like Firefox, Chrome & Opera?
    – Easy switch between new Start and the old popup start button menu?
    – Ability to easily eject NTFS portable HDDs without leaping through hoops (is only Devp Preview missing function?)
    – Putting a specific time limit or allowing user to set time-out/close of suspended apps (is this planned?)
    – No Home Basic version please. Brand dilution is not the way to profit 🙂

    Item 4: FEWER, not LESS

I’ve come across too many rabbit holes that you drop into with no way out. Example: remote desktop. How do I exit this screen? There is no close button. Right-click doesn’t work. I need to reboot to get out.
